I get a big kick out of the promos for $100K units that turn out to be offering "week 10" seasonal occupancy for that fee.
If you see something you'd like to buy, even if it still seems overpriced, make an offer in your price range. All the realtors are telling their clients to keep the prices up, but the owners are often willing to sell for a lot less.
And if you maintain bank accounts in ski terrain for use while you're there, check with the bank about stuff they now own. "Local" customers often get better treatment. Banks don't want to own residences.
