Thanks you guys!!!

Being the rookie SSDirector that I am, I have been reading and posting on this forum since last spring. I've learned a ton and I am proud to announce that after our first "busy" day of the season, my people logged the largest revenue day of any (that I can find records for) in the last 10 years!!! My boss has finally gotten to see where I'm headed, as the school and its programs have gone untested so far this year. It's pretty cool. It was hard work, but well worth it and the instructors are pumped!!!!

I just wanted to thank you all for your input over the last year and let you know that there is a fantastic amount of knowledge here.

I'm not trying to exclude anyone, because there are a bunch of you whose posts I have read and appreciated, but in particular thanks to:
Dchan, Rusty, Nolobolono, Todd M., SCSA, Bob Barnes, Lisamarie, JohnH, gonzostrike, AC, Frances, Arcmeister, Kneale B., Ski&Golf, Pierre eh!, Player, and especially Robin!!! Thanks for always being on line!!!!

Much appreciated,
Notorious Spag :

Echoing Pierre-give yourself on large pat on the back, you have earned it!!!

And don't forget to pat your staff on the back.

Glad to hear you're getting 'em turning in the badlands, Spag. I'll say this about the people from Terry Peak: they know how to have fun and get the job done.

We love it when the TP guys show up at Big Sky after 20 hours on the road, ready to hit the slopes hard all day, and party all weekend. Unbelievable stamina!

Keep up the good work, and say hi to Rock and Beaner (do they still work there?).

Isn't learning from each other fun!! Keep it up!!! The season can only get better.

Nolo. Beaner works for me and Rock works at nearby Deer Mt. Both quality folk!! We do enjoy hitting Big Sky. I was there for Fall Festival in Dec. for the first time and had a blast!! I hope I represented the SD party scene well. (smirk)

Kneale. Good advice. I let my staff know exactly how we stand every weekend by sharing the numbers with them and how those numbers stand against other weeks. Whether we're slow or kickin' I try to at least say "Hey guys, Good job." Without them I'd be kicking rocks down the road.

Gotta Git,

Way to go Spag!

Glad to hear your school is doing well and your instructors are excited to part of it.

Glad to hear things are going well!

I too wish that when I was SSD'ing that I'd had access to this group of minds. It wouldn't have changed the reality of the situation I was in . . . but it would have given me some folks to whine too! :

Spag, I never doubted you would be fantastic!

Thanks for the mention, however, I feel obliged to echo your thanks to everyone here.

I don't want to be melodramatic but my time here serves a rather unique purpose....it keeps an old drunk's fingers on a keyboard and off a bottle cap.

Thanks to all!

Spag, I'm glad things are going well. I have a strange desire to ski Brandywine/Boston Mills and to ski somewhere in the Dakotas.

Maybe I'll make a road trip.

Rusty, since this thread is about instruction, could I recommend you get a copy of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.
By the end of it, you'll be able to type single handed, which means you've got a free hand for the beer.

Wear the fox hat- I'm sad to say my days of hops are over.....well, until the old man gets a little air....which my daughter typically measures at about six to twelve inches.I always feel like I'm flying off a cornice.

I drank with two fists and type with two fingers. It's so sad!

I gave a series of lessons to a wonderful woman from Cork. Send me a p.m. and I'll give you her name.

I'll drop you a PM, but Cork is the opposite end of the country to where I live this week. It would be like asking Lisa, who lives in Florida, if she knows Sugar.

I used to drink with two mugs...

...but they've both got girlfriends now, and don't have time for me, so I drink with whoever is buying the next round...
