Read a press release around that Dalbello and Marker/Voelkl have announced a distribution (at first) agreement...starting Jan 1 2010
The agreement is worldwide.
Also, it appears that the two groups are looking into forming a stronger partnership in due time with an eye to R&D, Marketing and promotion...

Gone is the Tecnica/Marker/Voelk partnership...

Trek, yeah, that's what I thought too...
I thought of a joke but the guy who posted it works for Dalbello...
Lemme ask about Plake...

So is Dalbello going to fully ramp up to WC program?

Could well be...

Interesting. Does this mean the Jarden companies are finally getting a boot?

Apparently, Dalbello is still independent, must be one of the very few bootmakers that is. They've also signed up ex WC racer Christian Mayer in some capacity, which may be a signal of what direction they're going in.

Pretty exciting stuff. The brand seems to have flown under the radar to date, wonder if this is the sign of a higher profile in the future.

Looks like at first the deal will be "distribution" only, and they'll build from there...

Looks like the relationship is for Europe only.

The Benetton family used to own the Nordica group.
They re-directed their interests (read, money),  to other fields : Toll highways, and prior to that, telephony...
They still own their core business, clothing and the related retail stores, but have left the sport industry, for the time being....

Indeed it is!
The beginning is not so bad, but then it turns for the worst...
I hate these tools.
I suggested the corrections and the 'bot keeps replying "thank you" and changing nothing...aaaaargh.
Anyway, here it is the way I would translate it. Not perfect by far, but much better ( I hope) than the one translated by some silica circuitry ;) :

Dalbello Marker and Völkl will join forces on 1 January 2010.

The well-known ski boots brand and the ski and bindings manufacturer have reached an agreement on an international basis.
The collaboration will focus initially on a joint distribution in several major markets.
The companies also foresee significant synergies in other areas such as research and product development, marketing and promotion.
Alessandro Dal Bello, founder and president of the Calzaturificio Dal Bello, so comments on the agreement:
"We are very enthusiastic about our new distribution alliance with Marker Völkl with effect from 2010.
We believe that in the markets where these synergies are planned we really have good growth opportunities for both brands Dalbello and Marker-Völkl.
Surely this new constellation will prove successful for the simple fact that the intrinsic values of our brands marry perfectly: Völkl and Marker are synonymous with
innovation, performance, quality and design - just like Dalbello. "

Dr. Cristoph Bronder, president of Marker Völkl group reiterates :
"I am very pleased to have initiated this alliance.
It Will allow us to further consolidate our international position and make our team more competitive.
We have found in Dalbello a motivated, ambitious and innovative partner.
Our collaboration has an enormous potential. "

In the winter soprt business Dalbello is recognized as the world's first ranking indipendent boots manufacturer; the company, based in the province of Treviso,
has 35 years of activity in the production of ski boots.
The brand has recently been admitted to the small elite club of major producers having reached, at international level, the third place as per volumes produced.
