Thanks BillA for the guidance. I put a couple of clips from our trip this spring to the Gothics up at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?i...ulation_page=Y

They have music.

I get a password prompt. Did you put a password on your imagestation videos?

I can get in now, but I can't download the video. What's the trick?
After several tries I can't get either video to play. It keeps telling me the video isn't available right now.

But, I'm curious, what I want to know, Nolo, is how a full time instructor can afford the $4,000 for a trip like this. Do you have a second job robbing banks, or do you have a client who is a big tipper?

Your Highness gets milk but we can't watch it.

Your Highness,
Get with it. Fix the video!
It's the Sony site. Maybe the same person who is causing the slowdown on Epicski crashed that site?

I'm sorry about that. Here I thought I had a way to show you guys the Columbia Mountains so I could talk you into going with me next year. Nine spots for Kootenay in March just fell in my lap--they go back this weekend...

Please don't feel pressured, there's room for two at Galena in January, and I'd like that as well. It's just an offer to share my limited time bounty on heli-spots.

The pictures are pretty nice, aren't they? Almost as good as the video.

Bob, I can't afford not to do this! The first time we went, which was four years ago, it was "the trip of a lifetime." We seriously thought it was a one-time deal. That first trip, after the first run down some not-so-nice wind slab, I turned to my husband and said, "Sell the ranch."

I guess I'm not going to get to watch some milk.
What's up with that?

Anyone know of another free video host?

BillA lined me out on how to get the video loaded properly, but the server keeps cutting out. I will keep trying from time to time and let you know if I succeed.
how big are the files?

I've been twice with CMH. Once to Revelstoke first week in January and once to Galena the first week in April. I must say, I like the spring week a whole lot better. They were the best skiing I've ever had in my life.

I've got friends who go once or twice a year and have invited me, but, once my divorce is over maybe I'll be able to get my head above water and think about it again. Maybe in 04?

It'd be a pretty awesome trip to have a bunch of Bears do a CMH week. Wouldn't it?

The files are 3.2 and 4.6 MB, about 30 seconds total. I tried them one at a time. I got to the "finishing" stage the last time when the server quit on me. Grrr!

It would be a test of community to stay in a remote lodge and depend on each other for our lives, that's for sure. If the Bears ever want to do this, I may be able to be of some assistance. Last year I had 12 spots at the Gothics and next year these 9 at the Monashees until Monday a.m. I think we're going to do Galena in January to see what winter skiing is like.
Ok. Let's see how this works.

Please note these are on a test server so if they are not online all the time there is a good chance I'm rebooting for something.

Nolo's clips from Canada.

Thanks, dchan.

Unfortunately, I had to give the spaces back. We'll try again next year!

Did anyone look at the videos? I feel bad that dchan went to all the trouble to host them on his server and all.

This is a shameless plug for heliskiing. I apologize, but I'll bet you guys are feeling the SKIING JONES about now...and the powder sequence in #2 is pretty delicious.
Nice, very nice. Who's Who?
Hope I get to do that some day.

Bruce Raille is #2. He's a former instructor from Snowbird. Fred Noble and I are the synchro (?) skiers. Freddie is the U.S. booking agent, Mr. Synchro. Most of the video of me has my shadow too. When you decide to give yourself the gift of heliskiing, let me know. I have friends who go every year and usually overbook. They are very fun people who like fine Northwest wines.

I hear skiers like to drink wine...

Thanks for the offer. Don't be suprised if I take you up on it. I might have to spend a week in Montana learning how to ski powder first though. :

A little notice and I'll seed the clouds.

Just kidding. I don't have that kind of seed. A little spring wheat maybe.
actually according to the logs quite a few people have looked just no one posting comments afterwards.
Not a problem Nolo, You are welcome. It was a fun experience working on getting the server working properly. I am going to migrate to a unix server once I get it working correctly. It's all a learning experience.

This server has only been online for 1 week and not even a "webserver" but just a image and video server and already I've had several attacks with worms and code red and nimda : So far my securities have held.

Absolutely beautiful Nolo, I too dream of days of heli-skiing fields of powder and have not had the cash or opportunity as yet. It will happen tho', by hook or by crook! Thanks for spending the time and effort(dchan also) to allow me a very pleasant side trip. Nice turns, by the way. A sweet fluid flow. :

Of course we didn't get any pictures of the epic runs! One was 1500 meters of continuous creamy turns on a slope of such consistent pitch...well, I rerun it often in my mind. My sweetie made an 18 minute long movie of which these are clips. We sent copies to the people in our group. We've made some great friendships on these trips. It's sort of like camp for obsessed adults.

By the end of the week, we all want to quit our jobs and become mountain guides.

I'd sure like Freddy's job. He gets 4-6 weeks of this every year in a pair of Salomon rear entry boots he bought in aught-six. He lets me play understudy so long as I let him follow. So if you want to go, let me know!
