I have an I-pod touch but use a PC, I want to be able to compress my (key here, is I bought them) my legally owned DVD's and just make a copy to use when traveling. Anyone have good links or products?

update: this one seems to be highly rated  http://www.cucusoft.com/dvd-to-ipod.asp

Thanks Bro'! Much appreciated. Seems like a good option. Is it easy to use or do i have to do a lot of configuation and setting selections? The commercial Software is $30, so I was wondering if it's worth it.

+1 for Handbrake.

Handbrake works really well, with the exception of some newer copy protection schemes that it has trouble ripping.  I'm guessing most ski porn doesn't have things like that to deal with, so it'd probably work great for you as a one step program.  There are lots of settings, but there are presets you can pick from that make it very easy to use.  I'd give it a try and see what you think.

You got it!  The iTouch preset produces a M4V file for import.

Ron, Handbrake and others will dycrpt the software on DVD's and compress enabling you to sync them onto to your Video Ipod or I touch. IT's great when travelng to watch moives and all without using your laptop. I am thinking it just doesn't work well with PC's but I know it works great with Macs
