Do you think DavidM is marketing here? Marketing is 85% educational. I don't see how his teaching can do anything but make us better informed about some of the issues that determine what products we choose to "invest in." (I read that from a famous salesman--never use the word "buy" or "purchase" but "invest." Another tidbit, never say, "How may I help you?" Say, "What brings you to our establishment today?")
That said, I don't think DavidM is marketing or selling anything here. I think it's free for those who wish to take it.
Unfortunately, he seems to have left the building.
Whoa, FISH ON!!! Nolo, marketing is 85% propaganda and less than 5% education, where education provides useful information and propaganda provides information designed to sell regardless of the individual's actual need. When was the last time you saw a marketing pitch for cars, beer, computers, ski areas, or anything else that provided you with sufficient information for you to make a purchase determination. For me that has never happened. Even ski shop salespeople seldom or never provide me with enough information for me to make an evaluation. Why else would the Gear section of Epic be so heavily trafficked?
Don't believe me; check out the baby life insurance policies sold every day on TV. Chock full of "educational information", but the problem is almost no parent or baby needs this product. So, is the sale of the product limited or marketed to those in need? NO! It is marketed to the broadest population spectrum, because that is the way to maximize profit.
Here is my problem with David's information. If it were as revolutionary and indicated, someone would be laying this info on the boot mfrs. One of them would, in turn buy this, patent it or buy the existing patents, revolutionize the boots and fit and run the market in ski boots, by making us all ski gods. So, why is it not happening? Stupid boot mfrs? Bad marketing by David? What? Conspiracy? Or the most likely, David has the fix to the problem in his back pocket, Elixir de Snake Oil. A special tonic (made of 90% alcohol, cocaine and opium oil) guaranteed to cure what ails you.
Cut the propaganda, cut the crap, and tell us the problem and the reason boot mfrs. don't rectify the problem, and then tell us the solution, if there is one. If not, why waste our time discussing this? This would be like an endless discussion of a cancer ending in "and there is no cure, sorry." Instead the Doctor should start with, "sorry but there is no cure, but if you would like I would be happy to discuss with you any aspect of the cancer you have..."
I hope this helps. But for now I have to agree with gonzostrike, “show us the beef!”
