Cleaning Help Please!

Hi Guys,

Just need some help with cleaning my goggles. How do you clean the foam that is in between the lense and you head. Mines a bit smelly from soaking the sweat up.

Any help would be appreciated. thanks :)

While I've never had to clean the foam on my ski goggles, Mr TC's dirt bike goggles need attention on a regular basis.

If you don't have any mechanical parts like the turbo fan, you can immerse your goggles in water, with mild soap.

If you have a mechanical part like the turbo fan, then get a soaking wet wash cloth with some mild soap and saturate the foam as much as possible, dry thoroughly and see how that works for you.

I concur with TC but want to add that you should not dry the lenses.  Allow them to air dry so you don't scratch them

Not only do my goggles stink, so does my helmet. Do you think it is OK to *soak* a Giro 9 helmet as well?

Yeah, and my gloves stink too. Gonna soak them as well.

Anyone ever soak boot liners? (Assuming long, slow air dry)

Come to think of it, nearly all of my gear lacks a fresh scent.

Step in shower.   Shampoo hair.   Put helmet on head.  Swish helmet around.   Rinse.  Repeat as necessary.

The insides of goggles contains an anti-fog layer.  This should not be immersed in water.

Carefully remove the lense in your goggles, then immerse in warm soapy water.
