What I have found is that often we transition to fat skis, just like we were on skinnies. For me this was w/ plug boots + lifters & bindings w/ lifters. I always go pain >80mm. BWPA is correct tha technique comes into play.
I found that when I got a softer / non lifted boot & used a binding w/ low stack ht, my technique changed & I could pivot the ski easier w/ less knee stress. The worst for me was the dobie 150, w/ 10 mm of lift + a duke + megawatt @125mm
