That is a beautiful area Splitter!

I spent many summers backpacking in that area as a kid.  A few years ago a friend and I did a tour starting at Twin Bridges, up to the top of Pyramid & then out to Fallen Leaf.

Thanks for the report & congrats on the wedding,

JF

We hang out a lot back there in the summer, hard to beat for fishing and swimming.

I've summer hiked in from Fallen Leaf.  When we were out there we figured we might need a couple more nights, throw in a couple more hills, including the north side of Dicks on the way out.  But then you don't get to take your pack off and paddle much of the way out, and that was one of the best parts of this trip.

We found better fishing when we were out skiing, so maybe a different campsite, but I'm thinking we'll just spend a few more days out next year.  We wanted two nights this year but my buddy was in Panama for 10 days and didn't get off the plane 'til midnight the day before.

more photos.

thanks folks

It was a pretty great trip

We thought we might get nailed by the t storm in the background of this photo

But it missed us and just gave us a decent sunset.

The snow was great.

The lakes were pretty glassy for paddling.

And when I called the future in-laws to find out when they wanted me to drop the boat off,

they said just hold on to it if we got some use out of it.
