Quick trip up, left yesterday afternoon, jumped in a canoe, slept on the beach for a few hours, woke up at 2:45am, summited at 7:15, skied at 8am, back in Utah this afternoon.

The route (obvious line from summit):

Early light:

Looking down though the horns from the summit of Moran:

Me saying something foolish about skiing the Grand next:

And one of the only pics I have of the skiing:

The snow was really good. There were runnels and avy debris but they were easily avoided. Here's a few more skiing pics:

I'm really quite envious, as I've been sick for a few days now, and didn't get to ski on my days off as a result.

Miss that spring action down here. Reminds me of Tuck's without the crowds.

good job and what a view.  I am surprised that they let people go up there and ski.  Can you clime up the Grand and ski with out permission?

You can absolutely ski the Grand, no permits needed.  If you can climb it on your own power, you can ski it.  Pretty much everything in that park has been climbed/skied.  One of these days I'll take off from May though Sept. and ski and climb 6 days a week there!
