Feel free to post anything from your rides here. For the times you to lazy to do a whole TR.

 

Pasucks on Iron Gate trail Frick Park, Pittsburgh, Pa

 

 

awesome Super D style trail with bermed turns, floaty rollers, tiny hips, and some cool mini drops.

 

argueably the best trail surrounded by city on all sides in the nation.

I'm too old to do airborne stunts on my bike, but we did spend all of October and November in Cotignac, in the south of France.  Maybe there is some stoke for those who like long days of riding cafe to cafe for cheese and rose'. 

 

We found trails and double tracks through the vinyards and forests to connect the bars and castles of 18 medieval villages together.  In two months we never rode the same route twice.  The only vinyard and chateau we weren't allowed through is where Brad and Angelina live.

Was that Butterfield and Robins or something lie that, or did you arrange it yourself?

Had to google those guys.....no those trips cost per day what we spend per week.  We've been looking for the perfect French town for years, and stumbled into this one when we drove past a honey farm offering a Gite to rent. This was our third trip back.  We found a nice house to rent from a Belgian lady, hit the markets for food and started exploring.  We made a deal with the landlord to store bikes and  some stuff there if we come back regularly.

newfy for how much I hate doubletrack, I would really enjoy that trip something to look forward if I ever get a 'real' job.

May 1st - Apollo Roaing Run, Apollo, Pa

 

an hour northeast of pittsburgh there is some REALLY fun singletrack that is both technical and flowly at the same time. Tons of fun little rock rolls, bridges, logpiles and bridges skinny and fat. Some extremely challenging rock gardens as well. Miles? about 25 miles of very well thought out singletrack.

 

Another great day riding in the Pennslyvanian Rain Forest.

 

 

Its been raining nearly everyday the soil here is loamy meaning its is pretty much rut proof, but the logs on the other hand can get quite slick...

to anyone scared to ride clipless this is how quick you can get out.

 

 

Ok well I really dont suck so here is the second try

 

 

Wheelie drop

 

Pasuck on one of the dozens of bridges built to advoid the wet spots

 

western Pa singletrack, I feel bad for riders who dont have singletrack like this near by.

 

some more pictures of the trail wish we would of stop to get some of the harder sections on camera

 

 

on the way back to the car on the rail trail these tree were for sure eye catching, anyone know what they are?

Those appear to be Flowering Cherry trees, BWPA.

 

Very wet here as well. So wet, that I blew off the race, at Mountwood today. Just not into being soaked all day. I heard that swine may be present also.

 

Here is a Froglet, enjoying the wet.

i was going to go to mountwood instead I went to moraine North of pittsburgh which was 100 percent rain free.

A couple of random pics from Burke, VT.

 

Multi-use trail - the moose don't seem to mind sharing. This track was verrry fresh.

 

This flower was on a trail called Trillium. Suppose it is one?

 

This tree seemed bigger in person. It's some kind of ancient maple.

Kingdom Trails ? and yes that is a trillium, all of ours are gone now . Cant wait till the laurels bloom in june.

Although I've been out on my roadie a few times, I've been trying to stay backcountry touring as long as possible.  Today I conceded that skiing was done, & finally got out on my MTB.

 

Started in the valley below at 5000' to this plateau at 7000', dry the whole way.  Where I've been doing most of my touring the last few weeks in the background.

After running into a lot of horse damage on my ride the other day, I was STOKED to find my favorite trail in great shape today!

 

 

I love the green grass of Spring,

 

& the first flowers,

 

& the high creeks

never replied but its a homemade 12 watt halogen. battery life is like 2 hours. My buddy has Moab HID/LED that is really bright light and can be had for 300 from pricepoint.com

 

but this thread is about stoke. I am nursin 2 achilles with tendenatis so I cant race in the Stoopid 50 enduro race today but I can go out and spin and have some fun on some techy trails.

and since my buddies hardtail broke a couple week he has been borrowing my trance. He picked this up on ebay for 750 bucks. X9, stylo crank, ghetto tubeless(he pretty much copied my bike on a budget) needless to say he was faster and was able to have more fun on the techy bit on this bike.

 

 

too bad it got so dirty lol

It's been raining here so much MTB is out of the question for a while, & I haven't been on my roadie in a week.  Mostly just running... from the rain .

yeah utah dirt sucks!!!

 

but you can go ride slickrock in the rain if your ballsy enough!

that helmet is classy lol whats with the cover?


I know suspension or gears who needs them?!

 

 

all winter I rode a 2 to 1 singlespeed  fully rigid with RIM brakes!! its was for sure a learning experince. The bike has been modernized now with a Marz dual air fork and a front disc brake. Still no gears though.

Yes.  It is as grippy as pavement when it's dry, but slippery like oil when it's wet.

yeah and whast weird is some is much different textures.

 

Its rides like sandpaper in the dry, and its scary in the wet.

LOL, Helmet!... what's with the moustache?  The helmet is basically just styrofoam with no shell, so ugly you had to cover it with something.  What about the shoes, socks & pedal straps.  The bike is a Scott, who later bought Pro Flex.
