What is the best way to store your boots in the off-season.

Do you crank em dowm to the tightest position

Do you latch em in you normal ski position

Climate controlled room, ect....

I just make sure they are closed so that there is a slight amount of buckle resistance so they'll stay closed, and store them somewhere dry.  I usually plug the tops with newspaper to keep the spiders out too...

Dry, clean, cool dark place and in their boot bag.  Buckled with some slight tension.

I don't worry about spiders. Mice and what they leave behind (both food and droppings) are my problem during the off season. I haven't found a dead one in one of my own yet.

I keep them in my dehumidifier with my Cuban cigars.

Buckled. Geez, up in the mountains it's so dry in summer, don't really have to worry much about what to do with them beyond that. The only issue is hiding them well. I've got three more or less identical pairs. Have to make sure at least two aren't seen by the wife.

Will they keep the mice out?

i once stored my boots for the summer with my hat suffed in them, and moisture from the last time i used them inside the boot. by winter when i found them, the hat smelled of terrible mold/foot sweat, and had to be tossed, while the inside of the boot made very sock smell like mildew.

Good way to ruin some cigars which have to be put in a humidifier not a de-humidifier.
