I haven't skiid in almost 10 years, but will be in Switzerland in mid-May and was wondering what resorts are likely to be open and offer enough beginner/intermediate slopes to keep me busy. I found Engelberg to be about 60-90 minutes drive, and they have hours posted until 24-May. Any others of note that are within 90 minutes? I have found a few through other web sites, but can't find dates published for them.
Options for skiing near Zurich in mid-May?

Engelberg will certainly be your closest option, but maybe not the best fit. I don't know how much will be open, but generally it is not such a good place for a beginner/intermediate. Having said that, if it is only the glacier that is open, I think there will only be two fairly short intermediate runs. It would be a good day out, and Engelberg is beautiful, but probably not the greatest skiing experience.
I haven't been to Saas Fe, but I beleive it has a more extensive summer skiing operation and may be better. It would be a longer drive, though. Or maybe Zermatt? Again, I haven't been, but I believe it stays open quite late up high. When does Laax close?
