tentative , and barring my car makes its across the country one last time. but like 95 percent sure this will happen.

Coming out from the 26th of April to the May 1st to Snowbird!!

spending all days at Snowbird because there is nothing else open that time of year, and because its best place to ski!

not sure how good my lungs will be when out there but if you want to ski with someone who truly knows the bird this is your chance.

Yes !

SugarCube just caught up with me on this post.  Yes meant that I was happy for you Josh.  I'm sure you are over the moon about heading back to the "bird".

If any of you out there want to get the grand tour of the bird GO DO THIS.

(I'll PM you if I can get there,  don't tell my wife)

Josh,

I'll probably be around.  Could come down to the bird for a day or 2 if conditions are right.  I would also be up for some Corn touring.

It is still winter here & conditions have been the best of season for the last 3 weeks!  It looks like warmer temps next week, but the storms keep coming.

Keep us posted.

Bushwacker:

Will be there 19-29. First time in Utah/first time deep pow (from NYC). Love to hang w/folks who know area. (Cliff's post related). Let's exchange cells & do some turns.. Stayin @ Inn for those 10 nights.

Might be out there myself during that time, would be good to meet up for some runs.

playrink, a powder dump wouldn't be out of the question that time of the year, but it's unlikely.  You should plan for spring conditions and corn snow.  Spring skiing at Snowbird is the best there is.

I'm just taking boots & renting out there. I have RX8's. Shd I bring them?

Well, I had RX-8s and they were great groomer skis, but would not be my choice for Snowbird in the spring.  But I would defer to Bushwacker on ski selection in this case -- he knows best.  I'll probably bring my Mojo 94s, as they are great in spring conditions and can handle most everything else too.

I'm guessing if I go demo, I'll try variety of skis/terrains. So psyched.

FYI please be good. Ill ski with anyone for a couple runs but if you show up with release ready short skis and really cant ski I wont be to happy about it:). there is excactly one person I am willing to wait for, and shes none of you:).

IMO its dumb to ski anything smaller than 85 waist out there for fun. If its hard enough that you cant ski on a 85 waisted ski just wait till the sun comes out or skip a day.

Basically 80-90 for groomers.bumps that get soft and much bigger for off trail when that gets soft.

playrink if all you have is Rx8 I would rent something else for real.

your quite wrong in fact.

there will most likely be one big storm in one week in utah. Just be prepared with sensor mirrors big skis and a set.

I see next week's storm on the scope, but a high pressure ridge is building beyond that, which looks to dominate the rest of April at least.  But that's a global (= rough approximation) view of the weather, so I wouldn't rule out some precip for the second half of April.

I just miht fly out there. I need to wipe the spiderwebs off my Goats they haven't touched snow all year.

Flights are dirt cheap after about April 20th or so.
