A little background about myself: 52 years old, male, with intermediate level skill (mostly blue and easy black). I only took up skiing on a regular basis for the last five years and ski about 2-3 times a year (8-12 days). I've always been renting boots with varied experiences. After having a really bad boot renting experiences this past Christmas in Winter Park. I decided to get a custom fit boot in my next ski trip which is coming up in two weeks in Whistler.
I'm 5'10" but weigh only 130lb and have a rather narrow feet. I measure my feet with a caliper and got 88mm fore and 68mm heel. The most narrow men's boots I could find is 98mm. That makes me wonder if I have correctly measured my feet. When I wear the rental boots, I always buckled to the tightest.
BTW, I play tennis a lot and I always buy women's shoe.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I will use your advice when I talk to the bootfitter in the upcoming ski trip.
