aerials training

Thread Starter
I would like to become more proficient in the terrain parks this season. I want to include trampoline exercise sessions in my training and conditioning program. Does anyone know of any good resources (books/videos) that would help me get started on the trampoline? I am also looking for instructional resources that display the freeskiing jibs. There are some good online resources but they are a little inconsistant. I am hoping to find a well organized progression to follow. I know this is a little anal for the freeskiing genre. I don't know anyone else my age that enjoys this style of skiing. I haven't found any skiing partners in my area yet that could help me push my limits.

Hey there,

First, consider going to a proper trampoline school to get a solid "grounding" in the mechanics of flips, twists, and air awareness - safely. The better ones can teach you the the various tricks like misty, rodeo, d-spin, cork, bio, etc... Keep in mind that the execution of the tricks on snow is a little different because of the jump or pipe transition and the added forward momentum.

Second, the best online resource I've seen on the execution of tricks is Skiing Motion . The only video I've seen on the market that actually instructs is from Poor Boyz with Mike Douglas teaching some basic spins. It doesn't get into the off-axis stuff at all. Perhaps in a Volume 2?

I know a few of our aerialists have a gymnastic background.
Also they train in a water park in summer.
