Last week we had over a foot of heavy with about a foot of medium light on it. KT was going off big and everyone was charging for fresh on the first lap. As we skated across the flat on top heading for our lines, we passed a group of ski patrol with their beacons held out toward us.


Guess what was up? They were checking to see how many of us had a beacon on transmit as we headed for a run on a fast moving snow pack.


I never asked them what they thought after doing that. I can imagine, though.
