Don't worry, I caught it! Odysseus used the name "Nobdy" in Robert Fitzgerald's fine translation of "The Odyssey." It's probably a more direct translation from the ancient Greek . But if you're looking for a translation that's not a pain to read, I highly recommend the Fitzgerald–great stuff!
My copy of Fitzgerald says "Nohbdy", close enough.
I agree that that his translations of Homer are the way to go, many others were almost unreadable for me.
One person to avoid for the classics, if possible, is Robert Graves...fascinating and talented individual, but he did not care one whit about staying true to the source material.
