About 11am this morning a rider almost fell of the main quad to the top. They stopped the lift with the person midway between where you load and where the junction of Racers and Belt parkway is loated. The person was literally dangling by their hands. Very quickly there were several patrol and lift operators under this person using a coat as an improvised devise to catch the person in. luckily, after several minutes, the other riders on the same chair were able to pull 'em back up. Scarry though - glad all wound up okay.
Snow/granulated ice, was much better than expected. Almost nowhere was the top layer skied off. Beautiful day - 47 degrees - I do not know how people were skiing with full winter attire, including turtles and some with face masks. I was confy with upper and lower base layer, ski pants, fleece top and a windbreaker/shell.
