This is a bit off-topic, but I am wondering if someone can give me an approximate quote on how much it would take to ship a pair of skis across the country from one residential address to another. With all the gear trading going on here, people must ships skis all the time... If I go to the UPS site they use the stupid "dimensional weight" concept, that estimates the package weight at 60+lb, with the shipping price to match. I am sure the actual cost is less, but I am just wondering how to find that out. Thanks!

Closer to $40 for coast-to-coast shipping of skis+bindings. Skis only are around $10 cheaper. Our minimum shipping cost these days is $22 skis and bindings, due to the size of the package. This is via Fedex, UPS is more expensive the last time I checked, and we have been getting billed $45-50 for skis and bindings via UPS from New Hampshire.
