Yesterday was a great snowsport day.
However, I heard a really dumb quote from two teenage skiers (not snowboarders).
I was at the NASTAR shack filling out my entry form when I heard a big uphill collision and saw a body go flying by me on the open slope next to the NASTAR course. The 14 year old kid that got thrown down the hill wasn't moving or talking when the snow settled. I took off my snowboard and ran up to the kid. I was yelling at the kid as I ran toward him. Nothing. Someone else called Patrol. The kid started moving and eventually got up. I asked if he was okay. He couldn't really say. His teenage buddy who he collided with told me that his buddy would be okay. I asked how this happened. He said they were going fast and clowning around and hit each other. When I expressed concern over how this collision happened, he said "COLLISIONS ARE A PART OF SKIING" with great confidence. I wouldn't let them go till Patrol showed up so they could discuss their "collision" with the Patrollers and get the one kid checked for a concussion.
