Copper, Winter Park- Where to Stay?

A college buddy and I are stopping in Colorado, from April 6-10, to ski after a west coast conference. Any suggestions for an inexpensive place to stay? We're looking for clean, quiet, tv and two beds. At this point we're not locked into either area. Have never skied either area, any preferences for either mountain? Thanks!

I would look at Luxury Inn in Dillon for a basic cheap place near Coopper.  Also, take a look at Copper's website, they are offering screaming deals on lodging right now I believe.  VRBO might still have some good deals as well.  Oh, and recent report of Alpine Inn in Frisco was basic but good.

I love Copper Mountain to ski, love it.  But, I can't compare it to WP because I've only skied that on a race day which means I didn't really ski the mountain.

Dillon is about 10 minutes from Copper.  Not sure about exact to WP but maybe 45-60 minutes depending on weather?

I'd give it an hour without the weather.

Daysailer would know the distance better than I so go with that estimate.

I think I've ridden at Copper more than Winter Park this season .    Most of the good Cert clinics were at Copper this season and work???? has interfered with my freeriding at the WP.

My idea of lodging is minimalist and economy sized.   I think Bumpfreaq and I both give the thumbs up to the Rocky Mtn Inn and Hostel in Fraser.   The new Peaks Riverside in Silverthorne is budget friendly though I haven't stayed there since the massive remodel.

Thanks for the info! It looks like we'll be skiing Copper. Checking out the loding options, should get that nailed down today or tomorrow.

We're heading to CO April 3-7 and staying in Silverthorne in a 2 bed townhouse for $75 per night.   That's pretty darn cheap!   Much nicer than a hotel room, but nothing too fancy.

We skiied one day at Copper last year and i think the drive was 20 minutes tops.
