This past Sunday finally ticked off a line that I've wanted for awhile in the Kirkwood sidecountry called "Pipeline". (pictured below). It sits off the backside near the more popular California Chutes which are the obvious wide chutes off the peak to lookers right in the photo. Pipeline is a bit steeper, sits little further out than the main chutes, and takes slightly longer to get to, so most people (myself included) usually just drop into the CA chutes. This day however, we got there late, and there were already some tracks in them, so we decided to give Pipeline a go.
This line would be fun to rip non-stop, but being in the BC with a partner, we skied it pretty slow and methodical making sure we were indeed dropping in on the right line as it's difficult to find the top due to a rollover and several 'cliff-out' zones off the top. We also skied one at a time through the upper section with the first skier (me) bailing out to a safe zone after a few turns under some cliffs while I watched Dave come on down.
Kept the audio from the camera mostly audible and picked a quieter song than usual for background music so you can hear us discuss the line and where to drop a bit.
Here's an old photo of the line. The line we hit, Pipeline, drawn in red:
