Don gave us a good tour of Loveland and the gang spent an enjoyable morning ripping around-Doug made quite an "impression" on one slope!

I spent lunch and the afternoon skiing with my wife, daughter and future son-in-law who's progressing quite nicely. Reluctantly quit around 3:30 and headed back to Denver. We got back to 60 degrees here in Rochester this afternoon. We need a storm or it's going to be a quick end to the season around here.

It was great to meet all you Bears ( or meet up with again, Bumpfreaq) and I hope to get together with one or more either on Contractor's Day at Holimont next year or back in CO!

My friend who met up with us is SkiNurse.  She is a beautiful person, eh!

We skied until close then hit the road.......arrived home around 5:30 today.

Doug surely did make an impression, which we are fondly referring to as Dougs Divot, Just to lookers right of Chair 8.

To recap a great weekend, we brought a friend with us on this trip who had not gone with us in the past.   He faced the mountains with enthusiasm and said he'd like to make another trip with us in the future!

We met up with Cgeib, Bob Barnes, and Don Denver on Friday, and later stumbled upon Geoffda and his friend Dave, who happens to snowboard and rips in the bumps!!

In the interest of honing my skillz, we spent most of the day in bumps and trees, finding some great snow in the outback.

Saturday was Abasin, where I had the phenomenal fortune of meeting up with Noodler.  Honestly, we spent so much time skiing and chatting that we didn't take pics, but I have this one of him on the lift, sorry for lack of stoke.

Noodler, I HAVE to hook up with you again!!

Geoffda didn't disappoint, as usual and gave us the great pleasure of ripping out some runs with Terry and Doug, but not until after he ate a 1/2 chicken at Black mountain Lodge.

After a long day of chasing each other around the Mountain, we settled in for some drinks with HohnV and his lovely wife.

Where'd Mr Vertical Go?

Sunday Copper!!!

Most of the pics from above, posted by me and UGASkidawg are from copper.

We had the good fortune of hooking up with him, jmd, spskr, Geoffda, MrVertical, Don Denver and tsavo.

What an incredible day!  Spaulding bowl and other fun stuff off the S Chair served up a great day with friends, sunshine and soft conditions!  Yay!!!!

Monday, Loveland!

This is the first time I've ever been to Loveland and all I can think is Wow, why did I take so long to go there?!!!

Met up with Bumpfreaq and had breakfast early AM.  Soon, Don, JohnV(with family) and Ski Nurse met up with us.  As JohnV said, Don D was an excellent tour guide.  I have a few pics but not all downloaded just yet.

Thanks to all for an incredible weekend.  I am Blessed with great friends!

No rocks found…only a couple of stones on the cross under track at chair 8 en route to the wall drop...nothing more than a quick two step

It was great to meet you John V as well as your wife, daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law.  Also a bonus was learning of our Rochester connection.  Keep making those turns back east…you certainly ski with aplomb in CO

Nice TR TC.  Glad to see you didn't damage any local Colorado natural foliage (kiss any trees) this season too. It looks like everyone really had a great time.  Didn't you  decide to take this trip at the last minute/drop of a hat?  It appears you had fantastic weather.  Any snow left in the tip of the pinky or are ya dun fer now?

..Also a clever Bob Barnes move to safely drop the group speed from supersonic to subsonic byway of the Outback bumps

Monday, Loveland!

..This shot taken at the top of Lift 9 skiers left with the group blocking the view of runs over on nearby A-Basin.  [L-R; DonDenver, SkiNurse, Mr. TC, Bumpfreaq (note that with one more step back bump would still be falling down the other side of the continental divide ), Doug, John and TC:

Hmm, is that why y'all kept telling me to go back another step?

So far I'd say it's pretty much Spring skiing a month early here.  Try to avoid the coral reef in the morning and follow the sun after that.

I had a couple of good snow days at the Jane and one pretty good one at Jackson Hole but so far Vermont takes the prize this year.

TC,

Just wanted to say thanks for bring your posse out once again! You folks were all riding the light Fan dango! All looking Good! Sure was great to ski with a Great group!  No new powder, but plenty of smiles,

Some of my better shots of the day.

Please let all know that we were able to get the undies in the wash Sunday night, so no need for the "flip & skip"!

What?!!...and hit every bump on the way down…NEVER!   How could you think we’d even consider such a fate to befall you?

Crgildart, we did make this plan at nearly the last minute.  While it isn't the best snow conditions, we found conditions better than some who went a week or two before we did, and we had some amazing bluebird days.

After Day one, I was wondering if our friend Doug would ever return with us, as I heard him on the phone with his wife, "Honey, I think they are trying to kill me.  We got off this one chair and headed toward a gate that said Double Black, Danger, enter at your own risk!!!  And they took me there!!!"

Mr Vertical, its always a great pleasure to hook up with you.  Left our books with you so you can  share.  We'll let you know if we make it out there and need any coupons for ourselves again.

Like Don said, just a few pebbles in the path, but no major rock hits for me.  Thanks for joining us for a run.  Meeting up with you is always a pleasure.

BF, have fun and post lots of pics!

Thanks for a great weekend of skiing guys.  Sorry I missed you on Monday at Loveland.  I wasn't planning on heading up there, but then Faisal pinged me and offered discounted tix, so I figured I should stop resisting and just go.  We were over on 8 most of the day.  Saw you at one point & then tried to find you in the lodge.  Finally saw Terry and John riding up chair 4 as I was leaving, but I didn't have time to hook up for a run.

We saw you, sent terry to get you to head back to chair 8, but you zoomed out.

What a great day.

If you hook up with Bumpfreaq out there, he has some more discount tix, you should mosdef get with him.

More likely, and frightening, is that they will want to go ski with boys instead of dad .

At the moment, I can't imagine that.
