Perhaps you recall my boot fitting experiences through out the year, which have been derailed many times due to some curve balls thrown my way in my personal life.
A few threads
After canceling a few boot fitting opportunities with Jim due to business, family or vacation curve balls, I finally popped into the shop to find out when he could get on snow with me to do a "synergy" type fitting and get my foot beds built.(Instaprint, in case you were wondering )
He said, "I can't get on snow with you today, but I've got time to take a foot print so we can get started"
I was all for it, but sadly, my camera was not handy to take pics for my Chick Fit thread.
Here's the deal.
I got a weighted and unweighted "foot mould" done then I went off to ski while he took care of a few other customers and got the foot beds built.
A few hours later, I popped back into the shop and take my new foot beds out for a spin, errrrr, turn!
They felt great on many levels, with no real hot spots. My right foot felt like I had a sock bunch under the big toe, but that was the only issue, with one exception........I felt like my foot was moving all around. Crazy huh?
These foot beds have more material, and my toe box fit nearly perfect with them, but my foot, mostly in the heel but kinda all over, felt like it had excess realestate. Sup wit dat?
So, I go back into the shop and talk to Jim, who immediately says, "I hope I'm not right, because you've got new boots this year, but I'm afraid that your boots are too big because we're giving your high instep the support it begged for with the old foot beds."
So.....we measure my foot like normal, then with the support that my high instep likes, and wouldn't you know it, I am a 24.5 until we support my instep then I'm a 23.5!!!!!
Tell me, is this nuts?
