Oh Oh its a Magic!! TR.

have to catchup on TRs.

first I couldnt resist some music

skied yesterday with bunch of those guys from the other site called Maggots some of the face are familiar to here as well.

I had an awesome day. Magic Mountain rocks in so many ways. Honestly I could feel at home there anyday I would be there. Steep, Gnarly trails with thin cover. nice lodges, and the double lift isnt as slow as you think. If you disgust cookie cutter terrain, nazi ski patrols, people who think since they paid full price for all there gear that means its ok to be rude. this place is for you.

i wish my camera didnt kill its battery, but luckly for me thee were alot of camera's running.

some of these are mine some are not since they arent pro quality I take no credit for any of them.

Jesse Falldise aka Alfonse daughter clearing all the moguls and rocks at the bottom of blackline(big daddy photo)

funny nhiles pulls a mute, he is like me good like getting him to mute:)

thincover with extreme snow patch skiing(roack photo)

how did he get there. answer he straightline and hopped over the patches

My pictures are next

alfonse airing out on red line with Matt shooting POV behind him

Danielle ripping up the bumps of Goniff Glade

Fran showing the bump steeze

jesse slavring on the shamans

best attemp of a group shot I could get

If you not ahead of the pack

Wow, they've lost a lot of snow in a couple of weeks.  Looks like fun making the best of it though.  Glad you had a good day, I feel the same way; I could feel at home there too.

Nice shots!

Magic and Holiday Valley are the only two places where patrol yelled at me to lower the bar.  At Magic, they were in the chair behind us and told us to yell at the guy in front of us too!  At the top he skied over and thanked us for putting it down and explained his motives... and gave us tips on the best trails.

Nice shots.  One of the bunny hoppers is wearing a race bib.  Was there some kind of gnarly ski race taking place on Saturday?

When I was at Magic two weeks ago, I was on the last chair at 4:00 PM.  Assembled at the top were the "sweepers" who waited for me to go down first.  The sweepers consisted of one ski patrolman, three or four of his friends and two or three kids around 10 years old.  I decided then that I should probably not take a tree run for my last run - but I did anyway.

Nice trip report Josh! Congratulations on the Level III !!!

Goniff glade still looks great but they've really lost a lot of snow.

A little more is on the way this week and then cold temps.

Josh, nice TR!

I got to hand it to you guys and it just makes me feel all that older. Its what you make it, and you all had a good time skiing what sure looked like super marginal conditions. I don't think I would have purchased a ticket that day. I'm not proud of that, its just what the passing of time does to you I guess.

Remember , I'm the same guy that a couple of weeks ago floundered in thigh deep powder at Alta. Going back and hoping to try again week of 3/16 for a few more days. Seriously, I think its great the enthusiasm  and the commitment to ski anything in any conditions that you bring for the rest of us.

Dude,

I was in High School when that song came out.  Thanks for making me feel old(er)!

Congrats on the L3.

Josh, nice TR. But based upon the snow coverage you have to be missing the 'bird!  Especially with the dump today and through tomorrow. Get on a plane dude!

eh this is going o sound weird I am now missing here in pittsburgh but the thincover and sketchiness made it more fun.

It really seperates who can ski from who cant and trust me i rather ski a rad, thin east coast resort with a bunch of people who kick my ass then about anywhere else.

After looking at this, I can only think...  "Whatever doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger".

Way to get after it!

you would have had fun, trust me sketchy east coast condition are actually fun given the hill is big enough to have fun with.

Good to meet you J. Wish I could have skied with you more (along with many of the crew). Best of luck with the job search.

regarding snow cover comments - the snowmaking trails on the east side have better cover. Most of the pics are from the natural trails that of course have more interesting terrain.

Agreed, as it says in my profile under my "favorite place to ski":  Anywhere with snow (even just a little).

Thanks for the cool report.  I used to ski there and liked the small- time feel.  I'd miss it, but you know, we have more snow than that in August.  You have to be a true afficinado of the sport for New England.

I'm bumping this TR because it's awesome.

Josh, you coming back to Magic this year or what?  I still owe you a tour after those deep turns on goat during last year's ESA.

Thanks for the bump DoWork,  having fun isn't that what it  is all about.   They got about 15 inches up by Banff,  gassing up the truck and thinking about heading north ..................
