Nolo, Rusty and others- Thanks for your thoughtful replies. Rusty- I thought exactly the same thing as you are saying because I do tend to 'lever' the front of my skis. One of our staff trainers, ( he has his training accr. whatever that's worth ) said I should go to a stiffer boot thinking that it would solve the problem.
I did not take his advice, however, because I got a chance at a pair of Lange F7 softecs ( designed I think for intermediate weekend skiers) for free so I skied them all last season. I think it was my worst year ever and I'm ready to throw the Langes in the dumpster. Previous to that I skied Nordica Grand Prixs which I loved because they were so comfortable. I have custom footbeds and have had my alignment checked.
Nolo- I am about 6'- weigh 205 ( all muscle, of course...
Been skiing since 1965, instructing for 14 years. I don't have any video to offer, maybe in a couple of months. Other factors are that I am two seasons out of ACL reconstruction and that has affected me much more than I thought it would. I'm not blaming my boots, but I would like to get back to where I was three years ago. I just can't stay centered in the bumps like I used to and my short radius turns are 'levered' in short: my skiing sucks since the surgery and I want my feet back! Anyway, I've got to get new boots this season so all opinions are welcome. I'm still leaning towards the Dolomites, our rep here looks pretty good in his pair.
SCSA- What kind of boots are you in?[ August 16, 2002, 09:29 AM: Message edited by: snowdancer ]
