I didn't read Anything in this thread.
I'm commenting because Bridger is part of my upbringing... and the new terrain opened this year has me jealous I'm not there.
Nolo, you're right... the new kids with big skis can't ski. They're 20, in college, and are simply skiing. They have no avi-training, their friends ride boards- who have no avi-training, and this is some time in the first 3 years of them riding pow... and it's in very 'elite' terrain in which your generation grew up skinning.
However, it is YOU who is out of place. They're just skiing. To them... this is lift-accessed terrain.
Skiing in your local got easier. Access to terrain got easier. The amount of people skiing it is expected to grow quite drastically.
Sorry. But this is normal. You're right in your frustration... and in your worry... but this is 'kids these days.'
Get used to it.
