So I originally joined the forums to ask some questions about ski gear after re-converting back from snowboards to skis this winter, but I'm going to have to start in this area first.
I spent all of last Friday running on Icy groom making hard turns on steep terrain. Towards the middle of the day I noticed my knee aching but it wasn’t anything that led me to believe that I should throttle it back. At the end of the day after I popped my skis/boots I noticed that the ache I felt was considerably worse. When I got home (3hrs later) I could barely walk on it. the ache was worst when I would bend my knee walking. So I elevated it iced it fully expecting that I was going to the doctors office the next day. When I got up the pain was gone there wasn’t any real swelling but the outside of the knee felt really tired like I had strained it. So 3 days later i can still walk on it fine but there's a twinge if i pivot on it or walk up steps, or on uneven terrain. The pain isn’t excruciating but I can feel something is askew. What's odd about it is that it doesn’t seem to be relegated to one area of my knee it moves from above the knee cap to the outside etc...
My intention is to see a doctor when I get back home from work next Monday. (I work in a remote location week on week off.) I'm just interested to know if anyone else has experience this. There is no swelling or lost range in the knee just an odd twinge up and down stairs. I'm not sure if I should continue to ice it at night or stretch it or do some walking on it in the evening etc...
I’m currently riding a used set of Burton Blast boots and skis, I don’t know if the pipe skis/boots may have contributed to this
(Thank you in advance for the feed back)
