I just bought a new set of Nordica Afterburners in 178.I got a great deal on them but like a idiot I never demo them. I skied the this Fri at Squaw Valley. I have never had a ski this wide in the waist before. I have some Atomics Izors 9.7 in 177 and B5's in 172 and some Fischer RX9 in 175. I am 6ft.2in tall and 235 but with all my gear on probably closed to 245 or more. Anyway my question is I can't carve on these things they slide even with a lot of edge is this normal on wider skis? or is this bad technique? after a half a day on the Nordicas I got on my Fischers RX9's and was skiing perfect carved turns the rest of the day. Now don't get me wrong I had fun on the afterburners but just could not carve the way I am used to.
