Yesterday, I demoed the following:
Fischer Progressor 9
Fischer Progressor 8+
Elan Magfire 78
There were subtle differences between the skis. I had to push the P9s more to get them to turn. The Elans were softer and damper. But really, I could live with any of them on a long term basis.
I think I'm still an advanced skier and I know I like to ski fast, mostly on piste. I haven't bought new skis in 10 years. I've been snowboarding on plates and hard boots and renting skis when I need them.
Shouldn't the three skis feel totally different? Should I expand the demo picks? I'm trying to figure out what I don't like before I choose a ski. The only ski I have tried in the past couple of seasons that I didn't like was a pair of Atomic SX:11s. Too heavy and unwieldy.
