ESA Aspen Raffle Winners

Thread Starter

I let this one slip right by me! I hope my memory will still serve, if not, maybe Trekchick's will, to remember who won the great prizes at the ESA Raffle at AspenSnowmass.

K2 Skis (courtesy of K2 skis) - dp (he has them already!)

Tag Heuer watch (courtesy of Ragin' Cajun') - abc123xyz

Day-long private with and courtesy Weems Westfeldt - delta888

Tuning Kit (courtesy of Alpinord) - bbinder

K2 Helmet (courtesy of K2) - margarita marcia (?)

Day Tour of Bridger Bowl with nolo - akathisia

Vintage ESA vest (courtesy dp) - whodat's lovely wife Angela

Wine from dchan's cellar - wsmknicks and Angela (?)

The Edge of Never (courtesy of Bill Kerig) - Angela

I think that's all! Please feel free to correct me.

Huge thanks to all of our generous friends for their donations in support of the raffle, and to all who participated in it, and all the students and coaches for being there. You make it happen.

This was a great list of prizes!

I know that Squatty was disappointed that he didn't win the private lesson from weems.  Perhaps Delta888 will be willing to make it a semi private.  On the other hand, I'm not sure anyone should be exposed to the lesson's that those two guys have when they put their heads together.

I'm jealous that I didn't win the Bridger Day!

Yes, Marcia won the K2 helmet and loves it!

The tuning kit was a great prize with everything needed to tune one's skis!

Which skis did dp get?

dp got the Coombas. He's looking for bindings for them. Can you help him decide which to get?

coombas

Here they are, newly arrived and just waiting for a pair of bindings and a foot of fresh snow!

THANK YOU K2, ESA AND NOLO!!!! I have never won anything remotely in this league before, and I am very grateful.

I demo'ed the skis a couple of weeks ago and they are really terrific. Even though it was not the best day to try them out (mostly firm conditions at Breck, a few pockets of soft here and there) I was amazed that you could really get these on edge and carve them on the hard stuff, much like the Gotamas. I think that the flex pattern is pretty similar to those as well, although they have a bit more sidecut and no twin tip (which, if I mount them for AT will be better).

Dude those things are huge!

Looks great.  I was going to suggest the lighter Duke what's that the Jester or Baron?

But you're talking AT.  Maybe Whiteroom can help or Dawg or Sierra.

Griffons!!!

Tog, they're pretty fat, but I think the camera is falsely exaggerating them (or maybe it's shrinking my head!). I posted a binding suggestion thread (actually 2, one on the BC forum and one in the gear forum), and I am vacillating between the Barons and the Fritchis. I've ruled out Dynafits because I want to be able to use both my alpine and AT boots with them, and I already have a dedicated AT setup. One downside of the width is that a new set of skins is a fortune!
