Hunter Tues 2/17

Thread Starter

Quite a lot of machine made snow adhering very well to the groomed refrozen base.

No wind to scour it off; perfectly still air, clear sky, bright sunlight. A very find day.

Overcast is predicted for Wednesday, with some kind of precipitation in the afternoon. Uncertain if it will be rain or snow, or when it will start.

Thanks for the report and please keep them coming!

I was there on Sunday and it wasn't too bad. It must be better now with more snowmaking.

I was there Sunday and Monday.

I thought conditions were great, some icy spots, nothing some good edges couldn't hold.  Some areas of little coverage, greatly offset by others with ridiculous amounts of snow.  Temperatures were mild, mostly sunny very nice days.

West side was like a WC race course...hard, hard, hard snow.   Very fast surface, you could reach ludicrous speeds there, but the terrain was not that smooth so one could easily get themselves in a lot of trouble if they were so tempted to test their speed limits.  I took it fast but conservative.  Perfect edging was needed to keep you from sliding off the trail.

Monday was surprisingly empty.  I hardly waited on any lift lines, at times I didn't wait at all.  Monday was the day to ski there.

Could be a toss-up since the two mountains are pretty close to one another. Check their websites and see what their base and snow-making is going to be like, that should give you a good idea of which one to try out.

I went to Hunter last Sat, 21. Conditions were fine - I think they had gotten 3 inches the Wed/Thu before.

There were expecting some snow last Sunday, but in the end got only 1 inch, which I guess it means they also got rained on.

Does anyone know if it rained there Sunday?

Hey sorry I don't have an update on conditions cuz I didn't get to go today :(

Had to cancel going cuz hockey practice finished at 1am. Thought it would be a bit tough to get to the mountain and get in a good day of skiing after that lol
