Looking through other threads, I sense that there's a reluctance (understandable) here to recommend specific brands based on what's posted here, but I'll try anyway.
I have been renting for about 8 years. I used to ski regularly growing up, and now go out to Utah once a year for 4-5 days and rent when i get there since the skis I own are straight skis from the early 90s. I plan to keep renting skis, but would like to buy boots.
I am an intermediate skier (which I define as I ski everything -- moguls, double blacks -- but have so so technique). I would like a reasonably priced boot that's comfortable. I asked around and was told that there's a good boot fitter at a local shop, but was also told that I would do better if I had some idea what I'm looking for when I went in.
My feet are very flat (if that's relevant), and I'm looking for a comfortable boot that performs well enough to handle the more difficult terrain. Between Nodica, Technica, Lange etc. can someone give me a general idea of which brand might be best for an intermediate skiier looking for an intermediate price.
