powder, powder everywhere.    I want a video that dramatizes ICE.      Not a racing video, the drama there is from competition.

Does such a thing exist?

If not, how would something like that look dramatic?

Not quite what I had in mind.      Scraping noises would be required in the soundtrack, I think.

Here's one better. Ski this if you can. The only scraping you'll hear is your body being torn apart.:-0

I HOPE that picture is upside down!

Ice? You want ice? Can you handle ice?

And then there's that other sport - skiing on that snow stuff...

Been waiting for a comment like that, because the contrast between scraping noise and quiet skis could be one element of the video that emphasizes what surface it is on.

Seriously, the thread was started in order to ask the question: What else could you do with the camera or soundtrack to show that it is, in fact, ice and not just hero snow groomer?

We all know the Western Slo Mo Face Shot and the Alaskan Face Straightline Zoom In.     What is the East's answer?

Some ideas:

* 30* slope, hockey rink-like ice: skier falls and then slides 200+ yards unable to self arrest. Ends in safety net. Not uncommon sight early mornings on Palmer chair/Mt. Hood in Summer. Illustrates up the perils of ice.

* High-speed jib up side edge of frozen Tpark kicker (skis sideways, half-on/half-off kicker's side edge, ending with 270. One of more creative Tpark gimmicks I've seen. You see it on rails, but on a snow kicker! Rock the ice.

* High-speed pivot slips or on-snow 720s. Again, an ice-only sort of thing.

* Soundtrack: "Cold as Ice" by Foreigner (I think) or "Ice Ice Baby" by, well, you know who.
