Announcing CUBEFEST - Page 4

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed meeting, coaching and skiing with the ladies of the Cube.  What great improvements I saw happen over the 2 days, both in my group and in Uncle Louie's.  And how much fun it was to watch the grins and the successes that took place during our training, and in the NASTAR course.  I think we may have created some new race bugs.

I'll get to editing and burning the video we took of the before/after skiing soon, and will get copies out to each of you.  May even post some of your "money shots" up here.

How did I miss this event?  I heard Janis mentioned it but somehow did not investigate.  By that time I'm sure you were full anyway.  I would love to take part in this if you do it next year.  I am pretty entrenched in my bad ski behavior but I bet that between the 2 of you over 2 days you might get my butt to behave!!!  I'm thinking of wearing a dowel inside my ski clothes to keep my turns "tall".

Jo-- Congratulations Speed Demon, aka GoJoGo!!!!

Rick -- Thank goodness, a new ski DVD to look at!  Even at the peak of ski withdrawal, you can only watch "Steep" so many times!
No funds for European summer ski clinics sadly, but should they materialize at the right point in the future, Mr. SS insists there would be two of us attending!

Rick and Janis, EPIC job on the CubeFest DVDs!

I got mine today and loved watching everyone's stories on their progress and before-and-after side-by-side shots are really helpful to see exactly what did change in our skiing.  I can't imagine how much time you both devoted to putting these together--especially for a free/charity fundraising event--but know that it is all extremely appreciated.  Thank you both!

The Coach Greg segment was an interesting one, esp. his inside knee work.

Is l t on race skis?

Glad you liked the DVD.  Janis (Little Tiger) gets the bulk of the credit on this one.  While I was capturing footage for the next 2 Building Blocks DVD's she was editing/producing the Cubefest video.  I just helped a bit with the MA and finding the proper frames to freeze for it.  Her first editing project.  Wish we'd had the other camera for the freeze frame and slow mo clips.  The little one we used doesn't have frame mode shooting capability, so if you see some jitter that's why.  Other than that out of her control issue, I think she did do a great job putting it together.  It's fun to watch and see the improvements.

Comprex, yes, race skis.  That's all I let her ski on.    Actually, they are the cheater GS skis she uses for NASTAR racing.  She knew we would be racing on the second day so she broke them out.

I just saw the DVD for the first time.  Rick and Janis, you guys did a great job on the video.

Nice efforts and changes on the part of the participants.

Once again,  I'd like to thank all those who came out and made it such a terrific event.

Nice effort (and that's an understatement) on the part of the coaches!  The changes you saw are the results of your efforts!!!   You two !!!  Thank YOU!!

Little Tiger -- totally awesome job on dvd .  I know you started with no background in this sort of thing -- so your accomplishment is that much more impressive!

Hi Rick,

Received my DVD the other day.  It was a lot of fun watching the before and after shots....What a great two days were had by the ladies of Cubefest........and the improvement was quite obvious!!!!!

Thank you and Greg so much for taking the time to help us become better skiers.
