Level 8 skier
ski 50-50, like bumps
Tried some iM82's (178cm flat mounted) this weekend. Skied Kicking Horse... conditions weren't great but want some opinions on the skis. They seemed very solid all around but didn't get much time in any deeper snow as there wasn't any fresh. One thing that I found is they like to go... and fast.. a few times caught myself daydreaming and would be in the backseat before I knew it. Get back on top of them and things were good. I was on a 70mm waist for the last 5 years so this was a bit of a change. Bumps were a bit of a challenge and I'm not sure if it was the width or stiffness of the ski.
Thinking about buying them but am concerned that maybe this isn't the right ski. Would an iM78 be a better choice all around or do I go iM82's and just get used to them and learn to ski wider skis in the bumps? There were times where I was saying to myself "these things are unbelievable" and times i was unsure about them???
Sorry this is kinda vague but I don't want to buy the wrong ski and regret it later. I don't have a lot of demo options in the future and want to get some new boards as I have 4 trips coming up.
