Had a GREAT trip up in Tahoe last weekend. We spent the whole weekend at Squaw (this is a link to my review). They finally got some snow up there, so it was a nice layer of powder (packed below). It was snowing during the day on Saturday, and the top of the mountain was so socked in that coming off of Headwall Express lift you literally couldn't see more than 10 feet in front. The bowl off of that lift was full of people just skiing by sound and feel -- it was AWESOME, especially after doing the run five times and, by that time, feeling super comfortable navigating without sight. Fun/scary. On Sunday, it was sunny/clear for the first hour of the day (we get there in time to catch the first ride up the funitel) -- the snow was IDEAL after the night before. We spent a good 2 hours up on Siberia Bowl. This pic is from there (and I put it on the squaw page, I think):
The rest of the day got socked in and was pretty windy, but all in all it was a SOLID weekend. I hear that they got a ton more snow right after we left...apparently it was below zero in Truckee, which is right by Tahoe and which feels unheard of in terms of temperature. Good time to head out there, people.
