I am 6" and 230 pounds and ski in the east almost exclusively. I like a quick and agile ski and ski bumps and get bored just riding cruisers. With my size and strength, I have bent a few skis in my time. I've been on race ski and carvers for a few years now and won't give that habit up. Nonetheless, I am looking at adding a wider ski to the quiver for trips out west and for variety. I am thinking seriously about the Blizzard Magnum 8.7 and am now so used to very short skis that the thought of going to 181 freaks me out (which is funny cuz I still have some 210 Atomics from the eighties). But there aren't that many 250 pound plus skiers out there so the 181 is likely made for people my size. So I am looking for input here on whether 174 or 181 is good for my size.
Any thoughtful remarks will be very much appreciated.
