Lamest Thing I Ever Bought - Page 4

Hey - those Salomon SX91's were all the go in 1985 before Raichle stole their thunder - I wasn't good enough to wear the red Equipes - mine were the grey down spec ones - they are still in the top of my closet waiting for an appearance at a Star Wars fancy dress party.

I am talking about the red and white equipes.  Awful boots.  My buddy sold them to me when I was in traction with my broken femur.  It was downhill from there.  I thought they would be good because I wanted Hansons before I knew better.

Some buddy. Talk about kicking a man when he is already down!

When I was a young teenager in the mid 70's my ski outfit consisted of a pair of skin tight bright blue and yellow ski pants and a blue, orange and yellow  striped ski sweater accessorized with a pair of red white and blue Wayne Wong sunglasses. These items bought myself as my parents still thought that farm coveralls were good for skiing and chores and refused to fork over for the above items. I broke the sunglasses right in half by doing a face plant after attempting a back scratcher right in front of the lodge at Whitefish. That was pretty cool.

^^^^ Hey, you stole my outfit.  I had the yellow sweater with rainbow stripes around the arms and a red down vest along with the layered colors I-Ski glasses.. On a pair of 140 cm hart freestyles of course..

I had a pair of red Equipes and the heel lift on them was awful.  I used to clench my toes in them to keep my foot firm in the boot and by the end of the day, my foot would start to spasm.

Before that, I had the grey SX90s and they were actually pretty good boots.  Very comfortable.  I landed on my tails off a jump and the rivets on the top of the boot exploded.  Good thing it wasn't my knees, I guess.

Anyone remember the boot/binding system where you wore soft boots that looked like Moonboots?  You applied edge pressure using a plastic arm that was attached to the ski and hooked around your lower leg.  What was the name of the at system?  I wish I could find a photo.

Nava system. I had a pair that I posted a review and video review too. All from last year.

Cool!  I demoed them once and didn't mind them.  Sure looked goofy though.  You must've got some great looks in the liftline.

Those were just plain stupid.

What?  I bought my Goode Composite Poles three years ago and love them.  They are light and stiff.  Better that my wife's alum poles.

Philpug already posted a pic of the third-lamest skis I ever bought.

Look to the right of the Dynastars with the Nava system.

Anyone know what those are?

Rosignol "soft" boots for my wife.  She said, they were the worst boots she ever used.  Ended up in ebay and someone actually bought them.
