Bad News: Pathetically, you've read that correctly.
Good News: I'm sitting in my hotel room In San Fran on a work trip in with my Volkls sitting next to me.
I'm planning on taking the bay bus to Tahoe this weekend for my first "out West" experience. The 3 options are Alpine, Sugarbowl, or Sierra for this weekend. I plan on doing Sat and Sunday so I can choose 2 of the 3.
I'm an east coast skier with limited powder experience. I can ski almost anything in the east fine with the exception of serious moguls and tight glades. I can do them...just not well. Steep and fast doesn't bother me in the least.
If you were me, where would you go? I'm very used to meandering trails cut through the trees. I want the wide open bowls and a "big mountain" experience that I can't get at home. On my next work trip out here the bus is going to Kirkwood so I'll get the real deal eventually.
