Hello. I had a new pair of boots fit recently. They used a punch (I think) to widen the shell in a couple spots. They must have heated it up to widen it because now the shell looks a little darker in those areas and the plastic has a little bit of a dripping look to it. I don't mind the look of it but my question is have they affected the characteristic of my boot by overheating it? I would think if you overheat the plastic it would now be brittle and not perform as the manufacturer intended in those areas. It is just a couple spots around the ankle. Am I being a little bit crazy or is this a real concern?
