Lindsey Vonn - Page 2

Cool thread here.  Thanks for the video links JC.  I missed these.

How about this one.

Really? A full minute of that video and they didn't make a single reference to the only part of the scene that we all remember and care about? I barely even remember that she had lines in that scene. Lindsey would be so hot if she even half of Julia's irreverence and humor.

I'm pretty sure that was Sharon Stone, not Julia Roberts.  I'm betting on LV to collect the million dollar Tebow bounty.  Now that would be funny!

So you think Julia would have given us a little Skier-X, eh?  wink.gif

Pretty sure he meant JM, not JR, CR.

Who said anything about Julia Roberts? If we're comparing Lindsay to someone named Julia, as a skier I'd think you'd jump to the conclusion I intended - Julia Mancuso.

When I grow up, I want that job on the FIS women's circuit - the guy in the hut that rubs their legs down before a race. Where do I apply?

I think the better gig would be the post race massage ... back in the hotel room!

Right up there with this one...

About time for another clip...

The nation’s top athletes gathered July 9th, 2012, in the chic Elevate Lounge, Los Angeles, to celebrate an incredible season for US Ski Team stand-out, Lindsey Vonn. Red Bull kicked off ESPY week by celebrating the two-time Female Athlete of the Year ESPY Award winner and 2012 ESPY Award nominee by toasting sports’ greatest with an exclusive, invite-only “Sweet 16″ party overlooking downtown LA.

Vonn Cortina Downhill 2013

Vonn vs Maze, side by side

That was great!

What is just as great is that someone as talented and strong as Vonn is lifting up the entire speed team (or so it seems).  Her training and skills have to have an effect on her team mates, who are doing very well this year.  Cortina was the 2nd DH in a row where the USA had 5 in the top 15.  Alice McKennis won for the first time in St. Anton. Leanne Smith just took third behind Vonn and Maze in the DH, and Team USA was 5,6 & 7 in the SG.  Maze may be the most consistent across all events right now, but the USA women can win in any event and as a team, is best in the DH.  They should be fun to watch in Sochi next year provided we can get a link to foreign TV coverage.  The edited and delayed crap from NBC doesn't cut it anymore.

Not to gush, though.

Let's not wait for next year.  The world's are little over a month away let's put pedal to the metal now and trash them all season next year.

Its great see Vonn on top again lets also get behind Leanne (From North Conway, NH).   I would be surprized to see with Gold in DH next year.

If you get Unviversal Sports from one of the cable/sat providers, you can logon to universalsports.com with your provider logon and see 'replays' of the events. So far this year the replays have been full length, showing all competitors, all runs, without the commentary. icon14.gif

That is accurate, but I was referring to the Olympic coverage.  The Universal Sports announcers are fine (they understand the sport), but the garbage NBC has them say combined with the delayed and edited coverage made for a painful viewing experience three years ago.  Finding a link broadcasting in some language I do not comprehend is better than NBC's censored and delayed coverage.

Lindsey Vonn GS Maribor 01/26/13  ( Warning: Vid Has Race Results )

Moderator: I didn't start this thread, but it has a lot of good content, and it's always bugged me her first name is misspelled. Any chance of correcting/changing thread title?

Need a Vonn fix? Click here, if you have Netflix (streaming).

Thx Cirque for fixing the thread title!

My daughter had to watch this as an assignment for being on the HS race team.  Watched with her and glad I did.

Dunno, but I wouldn't mind seeing her take a run in it!  ;-)

Maybe she can take some inspiration from these trailblazers...

Then again ramp angle might be an issue.

I can't believe how much ramp she uses.
