The kids have the first week of April off, and we want to head out west. We used this website as a guide for the best snow conditions for Spring break. http://webpages.charter.net/tcrocker818/fam_ski.htm
We have a few requirements. We need a direct flight from NYC with the resort no more than 90 minutes. My wife is a very conservative skier -- and may not ski at all, so something with a spa and some decent restaurants would be great (she's not a shopper). We need ski-in, ski-out for convenience (we have four kids), but we don't need a scene (we'd prefer not to have one), but obviously we'd like something family-friendly.
Kids range from 3 to 10 and top out a level 6/7. I like some steeps, but I'm not a fan of moguls, chutes, etc.
We considered Snowbird, but it looked like the terrain there might be too advanced for our crew. Solitude and Copper seemed to fit the bill. We're leaning toward Solitude because it doesn't seem to get as crowded as Copper on the weekends.
Any thoughts/recommendations (including other resorts) would be much appreciated. Thanks.
