Scrolling when editing reply to thread

On my Mac (OS X 10.5.6):

 1)  Using Firefox(3.0.6): scrolling with mouse located inside the editor, the contents inside the editor scrolls to one extent or the other and stops.  With the mouse located outside the editor and inside the browser window containing the thread, the thread scrolls and the editor window spasms/jumps quite annoyingly while it moves in the direction of scrolling briefly then returns to the center - repeatedly/continually.

2)  Using Safari (3.2.1 (5525.27.1)): scrolling with the mouse located inside the editor, the contents inside the editor scrolls to one extent and stops, then the browser window begins to scroll.  As soon as the browser window starts to scroll it begins overwriting portions of the editor window.  With the mouse located outside the editor and inside the browser window containing the thread, the thread scrolls.  The editor window position stays fixed, however the browser window randomly overwrites portions of the editor window.  Clicking in the editor window to give it focus will sometimes cause it to redraw, but usually not.  Repositioning it slightly seems to always redraw it.

Just me? Or anyone else?

I see minor redraw issues -- the top and bottom bars of the edit window disappear when various types of scrolling occurr.  What I find annoying though, is that if I move the editor window out of the way (left or right) to scroll through the thread, the editor snaps back to center and gets in the way.

Well, I'm testing. Is it doing this in both skins for you?

I'm seeing this with the classic skin. Let me try with the new skin...

Different behavior with the new skin. In that case, it always scrolls the entire window with the editor jumping annoyingly...

Yes, with FF.

Safari works as I described before, but without the overwrite issue.

Perfect scrolling in Safari with the new skin.

Scrolling with overwrite of the top (when scrolling down) or bottom (when scrolling up):

I am guessing that the text boxes used for the post contents in the Classic skin are coded differently than the ones in the new skin, and that difference is causing these issues.

I scrolled quickly while waiting for Grab to take a timed screen shot. You can see that the editor is not in the center of the window. I did not move it at all. It moved while I scrolled:
