We have the Pow Pow Platter ticket (one day at Copper, Winter Park, Steamboat) and are thinking about using Winter park and Steamboat on Thursday and Friday this coming week. We are driving home starting Friday night, so this is the best time (currently staying in Breck). Any suggestions on where to stay convenient to both? Most likely, we will ski Steamboat Thursday, WP Friday, so near Winter Park probably makes the most sense. Thanks!
Place to stay between Steamboat and Winter Park
There are plenty of cheap dive joints in Granby. You might hear TV's and other noises through the walls. Freight trains come by so frequently that you'll stop hearing them after the first few hours. You might hear the train horn honking all night though.
You might also want to check out Hot Sulphur Springs.
There is a budget place yet not a dive in HSS. I can't remember the name. You could try the hot springs that way too.
In Granby, try the Blue Spruce and the Pioneer Inn. You shouldn't have to pay over $30.00/night if that much. You can even try bargaining. Literally, the train tracks are right in back. Hunters use these joints in the fall.
