When I start using a new pair of skis, I would like to use some sort of base conditioner wax to allow the base to retain moisture and become faster over time. How does one use a base prep? Do you simply iron it on, scrape as you would a normal wax, and then iron on a second coat of regular specific condition wax? Or, do you just apply the base conditioner for the first few days, ski on it, and then start using your regular wax? Related question-it is OK to add wax multiple times if you are trying to create a fast base, or will the subsequent multiple waxes essentially remove your first layer?
