European Resorts

Thread Starter

Can you add a category so we can put up European resort reviews? I only ski in Europe, so this would  be very useful for me and I imagine others who are in the same position.

It has been a month since Ruke's post!

Sorry for only starting North American! It was the only data set we had that could be imported into the site.

We can definitely create the taxonomy to open up to European resorts - how would you want them separated? For example, right now, US Resorts (http://www.epicski.com/products/category/us-resorts) is separated by Region, then State.

As you can see, if there is a resort(s) missing, then you can add it by clicking the "Add Item" icon on the top right (takes you to a page like this)

Would you just like separated by country? Which countries should we include in the taxonomy? We'll get it set up, then you all can add away...

Hi Dan,

Thanks for quick reply.

Usual tour operator taxonomy in Europe is first by country, then by region (e.g. Italy->Dolomites, or Switzerland->Wallis).

We took a stab at adding a European section here: http://www.epicski.com/products/category/european-ski-resorts

To try to accommodate the regions, we made them into a filterable spec that shows up on the left hand side of the screen, e.g. http://www.epicski.com/products/category/france-ski-resorts

In adding them, you'll notice that it asks for  "Manufacturer or Brand" - just put in "Ski Resort" (as you start typing, it'll fill that in for you) then in the display name you can just overwrite that and put the name of the resort. This is a bit funky, but we just added the resorts to the mix.

We'll also be changing it so that rather than saying that you "Own it" "Want it" or "Had it" for resorts, you can say, "Home Mountain", "Been There" or "Want to Go"

Anyway - quick start. Take a stab at adding a resort you frequent and let us know what you think. Thanks!
