Vintage Elan RC08 skis

Thread Starter

I haven't skied in 20years.  I have a pair of ELAN RC08 200cm skis that have never been mounted and have been sitting in my garage for ages.  With the all of the new deep sidecut skis these days, are these just dumpster material?  I have googled these skis and looked on ebay but no results.

Are there any vintage ski collectors that might be interested?

Thanks,

Michael

The maroon ones?

There are a few folks on here who might be interested for the sentimental value, enough perhaps to pay shipping.

You will have more fun on just about any modern ski.

BTW, welcome to the forums.    Do tell us where you skied back in the '80s (and on what gear).

Yup, the maroon ones.  I was an Ingemar Stenmark fan way back.

Sweet Uniline ski. I was more a fan of the RC05. If you need a steward for teh ski, I am up for the task.

Philpug, would you mount this retro-conventional, retro-hot-rod, new binding?

I would love to see a MRR on these..if you were to ski them. But...no shop will mount an MRR. I would say, not just ANY MRR, since the ski IS new... You would need to find a NOS MRR. Second choice for that ski would be a red Tyrolia 380RD

I had some RC05s with MRRs - loved those skis, and a great combo for the time.

380?  or  490?

I was mostly asking because I know I would prefer a forward mount on these, maybe +4, +5 cm.
