can atomic binding brakes be swapped?

Hope this isn't too dumb:

is it easy to get the parts and swap out brakes of different widths on the current atomic bindings? Some deals around on odd-brake size stuff that might be worth acquiring if it can be modified.

When part of my brake snapped last year (bindings Xentrix 412) the shop replaced the whole heal unit saying that a brake on its own cannot be replaced.

Mirek.

damn - - - - no replies - - - - must be impossible to do; I could make a bundle selling the secret in tiny classified ads.

The brakes can be repaired, though it is quite intricate. You cannot add wider brakes to tracks which are designed for narrow, you must replace the parts, not exchange. I find it easier to replace the whole rear track with wider or narrower as desired. I tried to create a wide brake on race track, but it didn't work.
